Thanksgiving is approaching and I am so excited for mashed potatoes, delicious turkey, decadent pumpkin pie, and of course many glasses of wine! But before the food is cooked or the custom wine bottles uncorked; you’ll want to plan a gorgeous table setting. This glitter pumpkin tutorial is the perfect finishing touch to your Thanksgiving place settings.
Things you’ll need –
- Mini pumpkins (you’ll need enough for each guest at your Thanksgiving table)
- Mod Podge
- Paint brush
- Glitter (In as many shades as you’d like. Upgrade to a higher grade glitter and you won’t be sorry. I paid a bit more for this brand but it’s gorgeous and completely worth it.)
- Paper (not pictured.) – for name cards
- Knife (not pictured.) – for name cards
Paint the top half of your pumpkin with the clear mod podge. Go slowly and get a crisp edge; this will ensure the glitter lays smoothly only in the areas you want.
Shake glitter onto the tops of the pumpkins. Definitely shake over a trashcan as the glitter will get everywhere!
Create a personalized wine label to go with these gorgeous name cards!
To make the name cards –
Cut a piece of paper into squares and write each guest’s name on them. Slice the stems of each pumpkin and place the paper into the slit.
Once the pumpkins are placed onto each plate, you’re finished! Pour a glass of wine and relax until your guests get here. Hah! Just kidding… Better grab the turkey out of the oven and mash those potatoes! But at least your table is gorgeous, and you have a glass of wine in hand. (Brownie points if it’s a personalized wine bottle!)
